Yinzer Shopping Network: tasty treats and beverages

Holiday shopping just isn’t the same this year so we created the Yinzer Shopping Network! It’s a QVC-inspired video series that highlights some of our favorite holiday gifts that are made right here in Western Pennsylvania. Locally Roasted Coffee from Redhawk Coffee

Redhawk started as a coffee truck but now they’ve got three locations and they’re roasting up their own coffee beans. I like chatting with the barista on duty, who’s always happy to offer up a personalized recommendation based on your coffee preferences. You can pick up a bag at one of Redhawk shops, located in Oakland, Downtown or their newest location in Sharpsburg. Frick Park Blend by Commonplace Coffee

Are you looking for a way to combine your love of coffee and Pittsburgh parks? We’ve got you covered! Commonplace Coffee has partnered up with the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy on a series of coffees inspired by Pittsburgh parks. Local Honey from Pittsburgh Honey

Starting at $8

The Fine Family, who own Pittsburgh Honey, have got hundreds of beehives all around Southwestern Pennsylvania and you can still pick up a bottle of the honey that they harvested this fall. If you want something with a bit more kick, try their Hot Rod Honey which is made with loads of hot peppers. They recommend drizzling it on pizza or using it as a glaze. 1 Pound Box of Assorted Candy from Yetter’s Candy

Yetter’s Candy has been making their candies and chocolates out of their Millvale shop for 70 years. And the same family is still making all those candies by hand. We love their 1lb box of assorted candies, packed with peanut butter cups and caramels and chocolate-covered nuts and – well, I’ll stop there so I don’t spoil all the candy surprises. You can pick up a box of candy at their shop in Millvale or if you give them a call (412-821-1387) they can arrange a shipment anywhere in the US via USPS. They do have a website but you can’t order online yet.

Ice Cream Sandwiches by Leona’s Ice Cream

Just because it’s cold out doesn’t mean that ice cream season is over. Leona’s Ice Cream makes their delicious ice cream sandwiches in Wilkinsburg and they’ve got a series of special seasonally-inspired flavors that are available now.

All their ice cream is made with real cream from grass-fed cows in Chambersburg but they use a natural enzyme to make it lactose free, which is great for lactose-intolerant folks. Pittsburgh Style Pickles by Pittsburgh Pickle Company

Picklesburgh didn’t happen this summer but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a Picklesburgh of your very own at home. The Pittsburgh Pickle Company has been making pickles locally since 2014 and their Pittsburgh-style pickles combine salt and sweet and savory in a uniquely Pittsburgh way. Unique Beers by Strange Roots Experimental Ales

Everyone has a friend who’s really into beer and if you want to get them something truly unique, you can’t do better than a couple of bottles from Strange Roots Experimental Ales. These folks are constantly experimenting with different fermentation methods and local ingredients to make some incredibly tasty brews. Box of Chocolates by A519 Chocolate

This is more than chocolate – this is a work of art. This box of chocolates from A519 belongs in the Carnegie Museum of Art. And yes, they’re as tasty as they are beautiful.
