February stars. Bringing us one extra day of cold and gray is the inevitable Leap Day. Here’s a look at some of the ways we recommend beating cabin fever. From an artist talk with L. Kasimu Harris who was featured in The New York Times this week to the CatVideoFest, there is no excuse to stay home this weekend. Let’s dig in.

This week The New York Times featured the work of photographer L. Kasimu Harris capturing the black bars in New Orleans that are closing. Kilolo Luckett will moderate a talk with Harris, Tunde Wey, and Brentin Mock on Sunday, March 1, at August Wilson Center.

NEW BEER: From Scotland to Pittsburgh
BrewDog, the Scotland-based brewery, launches a Pittsburgh outpost in East Liberty on Friday, Feb 28.

SAYING GOODBYE: Last call for Coffee Buddha
Fans and regulars can head to Coffee Buddha for a Grand Finale event. Located on Perry Hwy in Ross Township, the coffee shop’s last day is Saturday, Feb 29. They plan to mark the farewell with food trucks and live music.
