In Pittsburgh, there is something for everyone, every weekend.

Flemish Gothic Revival // We take a look at the significance of the old Allegheny County Health Department building (aka the Croatian Fraternal Union building) on Forbes Avenue in Oakland.

Immerse yourself in the show // Project Amelia is the newest and largest immersive theater production from Bricolage. We’ve got a preview of the show and an explainer on how this is not a performance where you sit in your seats.

Donut chicken sandwich // Our Sunny Side Up brunch is back – regardless of the weather forecast. Presales have ended but walkups are available. Join us Saturday and don’t snooze on a menu that includes our better-than-KFC donut chicken sandwich made with Just Good Donuts and a new collaboration: Brunch Mac featuring a mac & cheese base thanks to our friends at the Mac & Gold food truck.

Behind the window // ICYMI we made a little video about the Pittsburgh Sandwich Society and the Burrito Bus.

Every day is pierogi day // Did you miss National Pierogi Day this week? Not to worry! We’ve got a list of all the places to procure pierogi in Pittsburgh. Let us know if there is a pierogi purveyor that we missed.

#PGHProTip // RADical Days are here. Visit the Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History for FREE on Sunday, October 13. RAD stands for Regional Asset District. There is a 1% sales tax in Allegheny County. One half of that tax is distributed by RAD in the form of grants to local cultural organizations.

ABV // Fun to drink and fun to say, our beer pick of the week is the Squish pale ale on tap at both Cinderlands locations.

Save the Date // The Pittsburgh Zine Fair is happening on Sunday, October 27. We’ve got a preview of some of the artists who will be selling zines for the fair.

Now Hiring // We’re looking for the next member of the Very Local Pittsburgh team! Know someone who would be the perfect sales strategist? Send them our way.
