This weekend in Pittsburgh

This weekend in Pittsburgh: Pinball, ice cream sandwiches, Guster, Ben Folds & Mayor Peduto

We’ve got all the things you’ve gotta do this weekend in Pittsburgh instead of the regatta.

Hot fun in the summertime. Even without the Three Rivers Regatta, this might be the best weekend to celebrate summer in Pittsburgh.

REGATTA: Since you don’t gotta regatta this weekend, we’ve put together a list of 13 other events in and around Pittsburgh that you gotta check out instead.

Q&A: We catch up with Northside artist Cue Perry and learn about who and what in Pittsburgh inspires his artwork. (Meet Perry this Saturday at the Ice Cream Sandwich Day Celebration on Saturday, details below).

DRINK: For our weekly beer spotlight, we take a look at another one of the Fresh Fest beer collaborations. We catch up with the owners of Walter’s in Lawrenceville to learn more about the cornbread brewed beer they are making with Hitchhiker brewing.

SWIM: August is the last month of swimming pool season. If you are looking for a way to beat the heat, we’ve got a guide to Pittsburgh pools for all your swimming needs.

HAIR: Last weekend, over 90 alumni from the Woodland Hills High School Theater Department returned to Pittsburgh and in less than 48 hours they rehearsed and performed “Hair” the musical to raise money to support the theater. Know of a community event that should be on our radar? Please let us know! [email protected]

RSVP: Tickets are now available for our next Sunny Side Up Brunch with Pittsburgh Sandwich Society on Sunday, August 25.
