There are many fish fry followers in Western Pennsylvania who will tell you that the Swissvale Fire Department fish fry is one of the best in town. (Last year the Swissvale fish fry made it to the final four of The Incline’s fish fry bracket.)

The Swissvale Fire Department Fish Fry Menu

Last year, I happened to be driving through Swissvale on Ash Wednesday, just a few weeks before everything shut down. Having heard rave reviews – I stopped for lunch. I had the fish sandwich, which was more like three sandwiches on one bun. It was delicious.
The fish often sells out, but the beer-battered grilled cheese has received rave reviews.
