ABV: Squish // a fun pale ale from Cinderlands

Fun to say and fun to drink. Cinderlands has Squish (their house pale ale) on draft at both locations.

ABV is our weekly series that highlights a different beer from a local Pittsburgh brewery every week. Check out our past picks here.

Fun to say; fun to drink.

This week’s beer pick is Squish – a pale ale you can try at both of the Cinderlands location in Pittsburgh.

Why we recommend it: With a cute name and a thoughtful description on Cinderlands’ menu, I can’t help but recommend this soft, approachable beer. Tasting notes for Squish include sticky mango, candied pineapple, tangerine zest and pine needles.

The other standout quality out about this pale ale is its combination of being juicy (it carries a nice, steady haze throughout the glass) while also being crisp. Squish is light enough to be consumed like a session ale. It won’t leave you feeling super full and pairs superbly well with Cinderlands’ food program.

When is it available: Squish is the house pale ale – it’s (generally) always available at Cinderlands.

How is it served: On draft and in cans.

Where is it available: Cinderlands Warehouse (Strip District) and at Cinderlands 3705 (Lawrenceville)

Honorable Mention Beer: Raspberry Whipper (Berliner Weisse, 4.2%  ABV)

Visiting Cinderlands Warehouse

First Time Visitor?

Parking: plan to park inside The Hub (parking garage at 26th + Railroad Street). Take your slip inside and Cinderlands will validate your parking.

Food: To be honest, food at Cinderlands could be entirely its own story. That being said, yes: you can eat here. Cinderlands Warehouse is a made from scratch kitchen with a stellar in-house food program. Everything I’ve eaten at Cinderlands is incredible. You should get a bite to eat here.

Interior: Refer back to my Cinderlands Warehouse walkthrough story for a complete look at how their team transformed the former Spaghetti Warehouse.
