Picnics

Everything you need for the perfect Pittsburgh picnic

Plus a local business that will pack a picnic for you

So it looks like social distancing will be here for the summer. Even if you are meeting a friend or two outdoors, it will likely be a BYOB (bring your own beverage), BYOC (bring your own chair) and a BYOF (bring your own food) type of gathering. So this basically means this is the summer of picnics. We’ve put together a list of items to help you make sure your picnic game is on point. If fear of public restrooms is keeping you at home, we’ve even got the details on a helpful product that is getting rave reviews. From pickles to pepperoni rolls, here are our picks for a perfect afternoon.

Don’t fear the portapotty. Pick up a pStyle.

One of the big concerns about picnicking or going anywhere during a pandemic is what do you do if you have to pee. While this isn’t such a big deal for some people, it is not so easy for the other 50% of the population. There is a solution that is quietly being recommended amongst friends. You can now pick up one of these handy devices at 3 Rivers Outdoor Company in Regent Square. [Want to learn more about where to get outdoors? Check out our interview with Christine Iksic, co-owner of 3 Rivers Outdoor Company for tips on where to go camping around Pittsburgh.]
