What to do in Pittsburgh this week

This week(end) in Pittsburgh // July 19-24

Friendship Yards Sale, Workshop PGH Garage Sale, Polish Hill Arts Festival, Vintage Grand Prix, Jeff Goldblum Day recap and so much more!

This weekend is the annual Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, head over to Schenley Park to watch vintage sports cars race through the park. This is one of the only auto races that takes place on a city street!

Last Saturday was Jeff Goldblum Day at Artisan Tattoo. The real Jeff Goldblum showed up. We’ve got a recap here. Jeff Goldblum Day T-shirts and belt buckles are still available.

A hot weekend for hot deals…

This Saturday is the annual Friendship Neighborhood Yard Sale. A great opportunity to stroll through a Pittsburgh neighborhood filled with big ol’ houses and apartments. Bonus: Workshop PGH (located just next to Friendship on Penn Ave. in Garfield) is having one of their epic garage sales. Everything from art supplies to home decor. The Very Local team is a huge fan of the Workshop PGH garage sales and recommends you make a stop.

But first, breakfast. Be sure to stop by the Bloomfield Saturday Market to fuel up for your shopping day. Coffee, breakfast sandwiches and more.

Pierogi powered

Sunday is the 12th annual Polish Hill Arts Festival. Stop by before of after you head to the Polish Hill pool for food, art vendors and live music.

What we’re drinking…

This week we’re sipping the Runway pale ale from Cobblehaus Brewing in Coraopolis. We took a trip out to the brewery and caught up with the owner Scott Mills. Scott is a full-time engineer by day and brewer on the side. Check out the brewery and learn more about why we recommend the Runway in our latest installment of ABV.

Strawberry Pretzel Jello Salad

Our Northside Bicycle Tour this Sunday is SOLD OUT! But you can start getting ready for our next event on Saturday August 3! Buy a ticket to our Ice Cream Sandwich Day Celebration so you don’t miss out on our Very Local, very Pittsburgh ice cream sandwich. Our friends at Leona’s are making a Strawberry Pretzel Jello Salad (it is a real thing and it tastes way better than it sounds) ice cream sandwich just for us. Tickets are just $5.
