A guide to socially distant classes offered by Pittsburgh yoga studios
If it wasn’t clear enough, Pittsburgh Yoga studios want to make their practice accessible to anyone, anywhere, and at any level. Most studios jumped to bring their classes online this Spring, but if you’re sick of practicing in your living room alone, you can try one of the many socially distant, outdoor yoga classes offered weekly throughout the city.
If you want to practice with a view (or indoors at home) here’s plenty of opportunities to Om at a distance with Pittsburgh yoga studios.
East Liberty’s Om Lounge recently relocated to a new space on N. Highland, and while you can’t visit the new space now, you can digitally check it out through its Namastream. For $12 a month, you can join owner Suzanne for daily live-streamed classes, or check out the library of pre-recorded content on demand.
Om Lounge also offers $10 yoga in the park classes several times a week at Arsenal Park in Lawrenceville.
The YMCA’s “Y with You” online resource makes getting a sweat on at home easy. Simply choose from the library of pre-recorded content, including beginner flows, guided meditations, and “Weekday Wind Down” practices.
Yoga Love Pittsburgh specializes in hot yoga, but the studio launched online alternatives for those of us staying home. For $35 a month (or $7 per live-streamed class), members get full virtual access to pre-recorded content, as well as live broadcasts including “mini-workshops, meditations, Yoga Nidra, and so much more.”
Inhale Pittsburgh is offering a variety of online alternatives to fit each yogi’s needs. You can purchase single video and audio classes for $5 each, or an unlimited digital membership for $10/week. The unlimited digital program includes class recordings, meditation, and breathwork sessions.
Inhale is also taking classes outdoors, both Downtown and in the Northside. The sliding scale pricing starts at $10, and you can join Inhale at Allegheny Commons or Downtown at “The Oasis” on Seventh Street, across from the studio.
Amazing Yoga Pittsburgh has been offering online classes, meditations, and tutorials for a while, and for $16 a month, you can have access to the full library of pre-recorded classes.
Yoga Hive offers several free videos and mediation sessions on its site, as well as $2 pre-recorded classes on Vimeo.
If you’re in the mood for some IRL practices at a distance, try Yoga Hive’s outdoor classes during the week in Highland Park and the Schenley Overlook.
I AM Yoga offers live online classes in addition to pre-recorded content. Yogis pay $5 to drop into a virtual class or $5 for 24-hour video library access or can opt for unlimited weekly or monthly memberships.
Based in Lawrenceville, Yoga Factory has been live-streaming classes, $9 for a single class, and $45 for a monthly unlimited membership. The studio also offers online intensive courses.
Urban Elements is offering its cycling classes in-studio but also invites yogis to live stream a few classes a week. Virtual classes are $7 for a drop-in.
You can access video classes from One Point One Yoga’s library of pre-recorded content for $5 a class or $20 a month unlimited.
Head to city parks on Sunday at 3 p.m. for a fun fusion of culture and fitness. Trap Yoga is offering donation-based classes at a different park every Sunday. Make sure to register online before heading out to class.
Celebrating its 13th year Om-ing outside, BYS offers $10 outdoor classes every Sunday at Grandview Park. Make sure to preregister online to attend.

Hosted by the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, you can practice in Schenley Plaza on Saturdays at 10 a.m., or Mondays at noon. The classes are free, but registration is recommended.
A free, bi-weekly yoga class offered in the heart of Downtown? Sign us up. Check out Yoga in the Square Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. or Sundays starting at 10 a.m. Each class is hosted by a different studio or instructor, and registration is required. (FYI: registration opens two weeks before the class and slots fill up quickly).
With classes running through September, RIVAL’s Pittsburgh Pop Up Yoga hosts yoga and barre classes in parks across Shaler Township. These donation-based classes are held multiple times a day and require pre-registration to attend.
As with any programming in the time of COVID-19, we recommend checking out each studio’s specific guidelines before limbering out and heading to the mat. So roll out your mat, stow your hand sanitizer, and find a new Pittsburgh yoga class.
