Newsletter: Peak fall & Pittsburgh sandwiches

Also, we catch up with the Pittsburgher who has gained fame on TikTok by rolling around the city

We’re rolling through fall and sliding you some fresh new stories this week.

How do you serve a sandwich from 6 feet away? Our guest on the podcast this week has a clever solution. We chatted with Pittsburgh’s only female head brewer about an upcoming brewery she’ll helm in the North Hills. Also, we catch up with the Pittsburgher who has gained fame on TikTok by rolling through some of Pittsburgh’s most iconic spots. And if you are looking to experience peak fall, we’ve got some suggestions on where to stop and where to stay.

Podcast: Chef Mike Carney gets creative onboard the Pittsburgh Sandwich Society food truck

We welcomed our friend Mike Carney onto the podcast this week to hear all about Pittsburgh Sandwich Society and the pivots he’s made during COVID. The chef and food truck owner explains how he came up with the sandwiches we all crave and why it was a better fit for his team to launch a food truck – rather than a restaurant. Folks who attended our Sunny Side Up monthly brunch pop-up series last year will recall that Sandwich Society came up with all our unique, limited-run menu offerings.
