Pittsburgh fresh turkey

It’s Turkey Lurkey Time! Where to buy a fresh turkey in Pittsburgh

Yes, you can buy a bird that was raised near the ‘Burgh

by Amanda Reed | November 10, 2021

Turkeys aren’t the most majestic bird. But compared to ravens and eagles (which we can’t support for sports-related reasons), turkeys represent all that is good about the spirit of Pittsburgh. They will fight you. They can run and fly very fast, just like our own local athletes. They are resilient. They also, unfortunately, happen to be very tasty, with 46 million turkeys eaten on Thanksgiving alone.

Keep in mind that fewer turkeys are being processed this year, so you’ll need to get your orders in as soon as possible. Prices may be higher due to demand, and you may have to compromise on the size of your bird this year.

Whether you’re celebrating with your family or chowing down alone, we have gathered all the local places you can pick up a turkey just in time for Thanksgiving.

You can keep these places in mind for your winter holiday celebrations as well.
