Very Local Pittsburgh is the Pittsburgher’s guide to the most Pittsburgh places, people and events.

Pittsburgh was founded at the intersection of the three rivers, the city gained fame for being a hub of the steel industry. The banks of the Allegheny, Ohio and the Monongahela Rivers were once lined with steel mills and manufacturing plants and the rivers carried the by-products of the industry to points across the country and around the world. While this city may have a reputation of steel, anyone who has been here knows that it has an even bigger heart.
We want to know what you love about the steel city! Send us your favorite places and introduce us to the Pittsburghers that you think everyone should know. We hope you will invite us to your neighborhood festival and introduce us to the best pierogi makers in town. Say hello by sending an email to helloPittsburgh@verylocal.com or share your favorites with #verylocalpgh.
