George Martin Elks Bartender

Saturday: Elks Lodge Bartender George Martin’s 91st Birthday Celebration

Bartender to pour 91 drinks to celebrate his 91st Birthday

by Lindsay Patross | January 31, 2019

You have probably heard about the Allegheny Elks Lodge on the North Side. Even if you aren’t a member, Lodge #339 has gained some local and national attention for hosting Banjo Night every Wednesday.

Banjo night has got nothing on George Martin. George has been a member of the Allegheny Elks Lodge #339 for over 60 years and has been involved in all aspects of the Allegheny Elks Lodge #339. George is also the oldest regularly scheduled bartender in the Pittsburgh region.

To celebrate his 90th birthday last year, George served 90 beers.

The local news and the County Executive stopped by to celebrate with George….

George is still serving drinks at the Elks Lodge and to celebrate his 91st birthday he plans to serve 91 drinks on Saturday.  You can learn more about George Martin and his work with the Elks Lodge in this recent interview with the weekly paper, the Pittsburgh Current.
