Very Local is Very Pittsburgh.
Very Local Pittsburgh is the Pittsburgher’s guide to the most Pittsburgh places, people and events.
Pittsburgh was founded at the intersection of the three rivers, the city gained fame for being a hub of the steel industry. The banks of the Allegheny, Ohio and the Monongahela Rivers were once lined with steel mills and manufacturing plants and the rivers carried the by-products of the industry to points across the country and around the world. While this city may have a reputation of steel, anyone who has been here knows that it has an even bigger heart.
We know Pittsburghers love Pittsburgh. There are 90 neighborhoods inside the city limits and over 100 different towns and boroughs in Allegheny County. Everyone knows that Pittsburgh is the home of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and that Pittsburghers put french fries in sandwiches and on salads, and just about everything else. But we know there are many more stories and places that make this someplace special. Very Local Pittsburgh strives to highlights the things that make Pittsburgh, well Pittsburgh.
