Since 2012, CreativeMornings/Pittsburgh has brought a little spark of creativity to one Friday morning a month. This free lecture series features a different local speaker and theme each month.

We’ve heard from many folks who just can’t take time off work (or wake up early) but would like to participate. The solution: Creative Mornings @ Night.

The first Creative Mornings @ Night

On Monday, Sept. 30, 2019, we are excited to present the first CreativeMornings/Pittsburgh @ Night, which delves deeper into themes that matter, with some adaptations for folks who just can’t do mornings.

CreativeMornings/Pittsburgh @ Night positions itself as accessible for newcomers, and still something unique for CM regulars. Our first evening event combines August’s theme of Justice with September’s theme of Muse.

Part of a movement that spans more than 200 cities worldwide, the traditional CM setup features a local thought leader speaking for 20-30 minutes on a global theme. There’s complimentary coffee and, thanks to Cris’ Catering, our Pittsburgh chapter offers an incredible breakfast spread each month, too. The festivities often start out with some activities and a performance by an artist from 1Hood.

So what to expect at Creative Mornings @ Night?

Our first event will be held at City of Asylum in the Northside. We’re featuring not one but FOUR local speakers. Two are CreativeMornings alums and two are newcomers. We’re purposefully replacing the large presentation aspect of the conventional morning event with multiple, simultaneous, small-group sharing experiences. As you move from station to station, you are are able to create a personal recollection of the CMP @ Night experience with an assist from a zine made possible in partnership with Meshwork Press.

The speakers:

For the evening happy hour time slot, the coffee has been replaced with complimentary cocktails. The creative team at Pennsylvania Libations have developed “Justice” and “Muse” themed beverages. Cris’ Catering will go off-menu from their morning breakfast options to provide some hors d’oeuvres.

Update: we have reached capacity for the event. Please use this link and signup for the waitlist to be notified if additional tickets become available: https://bit.ly/cmatnight

It’s free to attend, but space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Signups will be available at 11:00 am on Friday, September 27th, immediately after the CreativeMornings/Pittsburgh morning event.

Stephanie has been organizing events since 1998, starting with a series of motorcycle rides through the Arizona desert to support her father’s business. She’s probably crossed your name off a presale ticket list or served you a beer somewhere around town.

An undergrad degree in poetry means she has lots of unpractical knowledge about iambic pentameter, while a brief stint as a copy editor for Alternative Press taught her that twenty one pilots is stylized in all lowercase letters.

Wanna throw a party in a vacant parking lot? She’s interested.

At the onset of COVID-19, Stephanie took on the role of podcast producer for The Slaw. She’s pretty familiar with a microphone, thanks to that aforementioned poetry degree, and she’s got the wherewithal to ask Epicast Studios for help. She listens to too many true crime podcasts, and currently records from her bedroom.

If you know of someone who would be the perfect podcast guest, send her an email.
