OK, now add in some cookie malt and milk sugar. Oh, and vanilla beans.
You get the picture. Abjuration has a delicious, seasonally relevant beer on tap for you. It celebrates our beloved pumpkin. Let’s get to it.

Why we recommend it: I normally shy away from pumpkin beers (I know, it’s fall and it’s the pumpkin-everything season). I don’t mean to be a hater; pumpkin in beer just ain’t my thing.
That being said, Abjuration leaned into this one – and nailed it.
Be advised: This beer DOES contain lactose.
This full-body pumpkin beer carries a sweet taste and a sweeter aroma. You’ll be tuned in to the strong notes of pumpkin pie and vanilla. On the subtler side, pay attention to Abjuration’s calculated levels of allspice, ginger, nutmeg, clove and cinnamon sticks.
Before hitting the draft lines, Pumpkin Pie Milkshake Ale was conditioned on Madagascar vanilla beans for that final OOMPH. Pumpkin people, this beer is for you. Go get it.
Also, at 6% ABV, you can comfortably have more than one before turning into a pumpkin yourself. Neato.
When is it available: Pumpkin Pie Milkshake Ale went on draft Oct 17 and should remain available for the next few weeks.
How is it served: Draft only. No cans for this one but – depending on availability – you can fill up a carry-out growler to share with friends.

Know before you go: Abjuration Brewing in McKees Rocks
Be sure to look for the huge Parkway Theater sign, and the smaller Abjuration Brewing sign beneath it at street level. When you walk inside, bear to the left. The right-hand side of the interior is actually a separate bar inside the same building.
Parking: Street parking is generally available (You might need to walk 1-2 blocks).
Food: No in-house food program, but they often bring in food trucks/pop-ups AND allow you to bring your own food (You can order in from any of the nearby restaurants).
Getting to Abjuration Brewing: You can absolutely bus to Abjuration; transfer your way onto the 22 or the 24 lines for VERY easy access. Literally, the 24 bus drops you off right at the front step. Uber/Lyft are always good too.
