Hello Pittsburgh! We are excited to invite you to our inaugural Very Local event.

Think of Very Local Pittsburgh not as a guide book for tourists, but as a resource that connects Pittsburghers to the best parts of their city.

Our debut event gets right to the point. Literally. We are inviting you to join us in the heart of the city – blocks from Point State Park – for an ice skating party at MassMutual Pittsburgh Ice Rink at PPG Place.

We’re new to the Pittsburgh media scene, but our staff has been around the proverbial ‘Burgh block. One of the mottos taped to the wall of our office is “see the city in a new lens.” Everyone visits the ice rink when it’s dressed in its holiday finest, but let’s give it a proper send-off.

Sunday, March 3rd is the last day the rink is open for the winter season. We’ve partnered with a Pittsburgh nonprofit that is all about making local connections – 412 Food Rescue. All of the ticket sales will be donated to help 412 Food Rescue with their mission to “prevent perfectly good food from entering the waste stream.”

We teamed up with some other local favorites to make sure this skate date is a Pittsburgh party. DJMB, whom you may know from In Bed by Ten Dance party will be providing the music and Zeke’s Coffee will be whipping up hot chocolate.

Everyone loves a party, but how about a party where we donate your ticket cost to a good cause? Yeah, that’s even better.

It could be a puddle party, it could be another polar vortex, but come downtown rain or shine. Or snow.

Advance tickets are required to reserve your spot, but 100% of your ticket cost is donated. Tell a friend. Bring a +1. Let’s skate into spring. Together.
